Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated Tuesday that the outcome of the by-elections has no bearing on the general election.
He stated that while the controversial NAB Chairman has been removed, the circus he started continues. He will have to answer for the wrongs he caused to innocent people, he added.
Speaking to the media outside the National Accountability Court (NAB), the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) stated that the party that wins the election on July 22nd will form the government, while the loser will sit in opposition.
We would not flee if we knew we were going to lose, he added.
He reiterated that the NAB should be closed down because it has harmed the country’s progress. He added that no officer would work until the NAB is operational.
The PML-N leader added that the PTI has been spreading a false narrative of accountability for four years. If Imran Khan is serious about accountability, he should make his assets public, he added.
The 20 seats up for grabs in the by-elections were held by the PTI, and the party accepts whatever decision the people make, according to Khaqan Abbasi.
