As the general public struggles with record inflation, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) announced on Thursday that the price of electricity will increase by Rs7.90 per unit for the month of May.
The consumers of 10 power distribution companies will bear an additional financial burden of Rs113 billion as a result of the increase.
However, customers of Lifeline and Karachi-Electric (KE) will not be covered by the notification.
