Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered an investigation into the delay in the Gwadar Breakwater project on Wednesday.
PM Shehbaz, who described the delay as criminal, took to Twitter to say that he had ordered an investigation into the situation during a meeting.
He expressed surprise that the PTI government neglected it despite the availability of a $445 million grant, a $484 million soft loan, and feasibility.
“From energy to infrastructure, every project under PTI suffered costly delays,’ wrote the PM.
He also reiterated his resolve to complete the CPEC project on a fast-track basis.
“Time for presentations is over. The time for action is now. Gwadar is not just about infrastructure development; being part of CPEC, has political, economic & strategic value. Turning Balochistan’s backwardness into prosperity is our collective responsibility & my mission.”
