General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), received a farewell visit from His Excellency Mr. Bernhard Stephan Schlagheck, German Ambassador to Pakistan, on Wednesday at General Headquarters (GHQ), according to a statement released by the ISPR.
The meeting covered topics of shared interest, the state of the region as a whole, and bilateral cooperation in a variety of fields.
According to the COAS, Pakistan places a high value on its relations with Germany. He expressed gratitude for the dignitary’s assistance, acknowledged his support for defense and security cooperation, and thanked him for helping to forge close ties between the two nations.
The dignitary acknowledged Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to maintain peace and stability in the area and promised to contribute to further strengthening bilateral cooperation, according to the ISPR statement.
