Faizan Akbar, a four-time national gold medalist from Pakistan, went missing ‘mysteriously’ in Hungary.
Faizan, 22, of Gujar Khan, arrived in Budapest last week to compete in the 19th FINA World Championships, which are presently taking place in Hungary.
After checking in, he chose to rest in his hotel and then’mysteriously’ vanished on June 18.
Faizan was supposed to compete in the 100m backstroke on June 19, however he did not show up.
The Pakistan Swimming Federation (PSF) has also been unable to locate the swimmer since June 18.
The PSF has sent four swimmers to the World Championship, including Amaan Siddiqui, Jehanara Nabi, and Bismah Khan. The international competition will end on July 3.
