Bilawal forms 3-member PPP committee on deal with terrorism

PPP Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has formed a three-member committee to build contacts with political parties and raise the problem of recent developments in Pakistan and the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Sherry Rehman, Farhatullah Babar, and Qamar Zaman Kaira are the committee’s three members.

Bilawal Bhutto, speaking at a PPP meeting on Saturday at Zardari House in Islamabad, said that the Pakistan People’s Party believes that all counter-terrorism decisions should be made by parliament.

FM Bilawal said on Twitter that the PPP conducted a high-level meeting to examine terrorism, especially in view of recent developments in Afghanistan with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) (TTP).

Bilawal had stated that the PPP would reach out to allies in order to find a consensus on a path forward.
