LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has dismissed Dua Zahra’s mother and brother-in-petition, the law ordering the police not to harass Dua’s mother-in-law.
Dua’s husband, Zaheer Ahmed, and his mother and brother filed the petition, asking the court to stop the police from harassing them.
Justice Tariq Saleem presided over the case. Justice Tariq Saleem ordered the police not to harass Dua’s mother-in-law during the hearing.
Dua Zahra to decide her fate
The Sindh High Court (SHC) had previously allowed Dua to choose whether she wants to travel with her parents or with her husband.
Justice Junaid Ghaffar stated in a three-page written order that the court reached the verdict based on the testimony. “Based on all of the evidence, this is not a kidnapping case.”
“…the alleged/minor Dua E Zahra Kazmi is set at liberty to decide as to whom she intends to reside and go along, pursuant to her statement on Oath and Age Certificate,” the order stated.
