Ashura holds profound historical and spiritual significance as it pays tribute to the undeterred resilience of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) grandson, Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A), his family, and devoted companions.
Their stand against oppression and injustice continues to inspire Muslims around the world.

In Pakistan, the federal government traditionally declares public holidays on the 9th and 10th of Muharram, allowing citizens to participate in the religious observances and processions.
This year, these holidays are expected to fall on July 16 and 17, corresponding to Tuesday and Wednesday.

The holy month of Muharram, marking the beginning of the new Islamic year, is anticipated to commence on July 8.
Accordingly, Youm-e-Ashur, or the Day of Ashura, will be observed on July 17, 2024.
Authorities have announced extensive security arrangements to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of Ashura 2024 processions.
These measures aim to prevent any incidents and allow the faithful to mourn and reflect on the sacrifices made at Karbala without disruption.
