ATC grants bail to PTI’s Yasmin Rashid in May 9 case.

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Punjab’s capital has granted post-arrest bail to Dr. Yasmin Rashid, a prominent figure within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.

This decision comes from a case concerning the burning of police vehicles in the Gulberg area on May 9th of the previous year.

The bail, approved by ATC Judge Arshad Javed, is contingent upon surety bonds worth Rs500,000, following a thorough consideration of arguments presented by both the prosecution and defense.

Special Prosecutor Mansoor Bukhari vehemently opposed Rashid’s bail petition, citing allegations of inciting public unrest against the state.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid had been in police custody for an extended period, facing accusations in multiple cases, including involvement in the attack on the Lahore Corps Commander’s residence amid the turmoil that erupted following the arrest of PTI chairman Imran Khan in a corruption probe.

As ATC grants bail to PTI’s Yasmin Rashid in May 9 case, this decision by the ATC marks a significant development in the legal proceedings surrounding Rashid’s alleged involvement in the aforementioned incidents.
