Schedule for Nobel Prize 2023 winners’ announcement revealed

The schedule for the Nobel Prize 2023 winners’ announcement has been revealed. From October 2 to October 9, various categories of the 2023 Nobel Prizes will be announced. The event will also be live-streamed online.

The organizations that award prizes have determined to do the following when announcing their 2023 award decisions:

Physiology or Medicine – Monday, 2 October

Physics – Tuesday, 3 October, 11:45 CEST at the earliest

Chemistry – Wednesday, 4 October, 11:45 CEST at the earliest

Literature – Thursday, 5 October, 13:00 CEST at the earliest

Peace – Friday, 6 October, 11:00 CEST

THE SVERIGES RIKSBANK PRIZE IN ECONOMIC SCIENCES IN MEMORY OF ALFRED NOBEL – Monday, 9 October, 11:45 CEST at the earliest

The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded by a committee of five, appointed by the Storting (the Norwegian parliament).

The Nobel Prizes are five separate awards that, according to Alfred Nobel’s will of 1895, are given to “those who, during the preceding year, have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind.” Alfred Nobel was a famous Swedish chemist, engineer, and industrialist who invented dynamite.

Nobel Prizes are given in the fields of physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, and peace (the Peace Prize is given “to the person who has done the most or best to advance fellowship among nations, the abolition or reduction of standing armies, and the establishment and promotion of peace congresses”).
