Russian tourist converts to Islam at Hagia Sophia. During a visit to the historic mosque Hagia Sophia in Istanbul’s Tukiye district, a Russian visitor converted to Islam.
A Turkish media site released the video on social media, showing the traveler repeating the “kalmia” to convert to Islam.
During the Ottoman administration, the Hagia Sophia was both a Christian Cathedral and a mosque. It was transformed into a mosque in 2020 and remains a tourist destination for people of all faiths.

The Russian visitor had arrived at the worship site as a tourist during the Islamic instruction on Sahih Bukhari, one of the six authentic books of Hadith.
The instruction piqued his interest, and he decided to accept Islam as his faith. He was given the Islamic name Ahmad Daneez after converting to Islam.
