Wreckage of missing tourist helicopter in Nepal found along with 5 bodies. Five tourists were on board a tourist helicopter that crashed this morning close to Mount Everest in Nepal. Three hours after the helicopter disappeared the bodies and the wreckage were discovered.
Soon after takeoff, the private helicopter carrying five Mexican nationals crashed at Lamjura in the mountainous Solukhumbu district, according to officials.
At 10.04 a.m., the Manang Air NA-MV helicopter took off for Kathmandu from the Surke Airport; it lost contact at about 10.12 a.m., according to Gyanendra Bhul, manager of Tribhuvan International Airport.

The crash may have been caused by the helicopter colliding with a tree on the hilltop. Two helicopters were dispatched to find the missing helicopter, but due to bad weather, they had to turn around.
Locals reported hearing a loud explosion when the helicopter crashed at Chihandanda in the Lamjura region to the police.
As the wreckage of a missing tourist helicopter in Nepal was found along with 5 bodies, after witnesses notified the police, a rescue team arrived at the scene of the crash.
According to aviation officials, an investigation has been started to determine the precise cause of the crash.
