Liz Truss beats Rishi Sunak to become the new UK Prime Minister

The UKUK conservative party chose Liz Truss as their new prime minister. The hawkish foreign secretary, Ms. Truss won the race over Mr. Rishi Sunak. The governing conservative party had these members running for the leadership amidst the country is going through exceedingly economic crises.

After the former prime minister, Boris Johnson’s resignation, there were two conservative members running for position the rallying campaign went on for 8 weeks & the voting finally ended on Friday. The results were expected to come on Monday & the novel news is that out of the two options, Ms. Truss, got more votes.

Ms. Liz Truss’s victory was widely expected & now she has been elected as the third ever female prime minister of UK after Margaret Thatcher, Theresa May. Ms. Truss received 81,326 votes while her opposition, Mr. Rishi Sunak got 60,399 votes.

The new electable, however, will be met with innumerable problems as UK is going through not only social, political but a devastating economic crisis. Sky-rocketing inflation rate, energy crises, troubled labor population, shortage of fuel in the upcoming winters, on-going Russian tassel as they’ve closed the main gas pipeline & a lot big series of problems awaiting to be looked at.

“Its time we show that we will deliver in the next 2 years. I will share my grand plan for the country which includes cutting down on taxes, dealing with energy crises & people’s bills & steadily growing the economy”, says the just elected prime minister.

Ms. Truss s further added that we need to look at the long-term issues in terms of energy crises.

As the voting & elections are sidelined, the proper procedure of announcing the new prime minister will be followed. The former prime minister, Boris Johnson, who was forced to resign because of numerous scandals. He will be traveling to Scotland on Tuesday to meet queen Elizabeth & tender his resignation officially. He will be followed by Ms. Liz Truss to officially be granted the position of the new prime minister by the monarch. This is going to be the first time in the history of the UK that a 96-Year-old Queen will crown/allow the formation of a government.

Talking about the tenure of Boris Johnson, the country met with innumerable crises that now the new electable Prime Minister will have to roll up her sleeves for far crucial outcomes. Some opposition law-makers have called Ms. Truss regime to be at place where her government will be dealing with the 12 years poor pats performance by the conservative party.

David Davis, one of the lawmakers has said that, “I don’t think either of the candidates really knows how big this is going to be.” Ms. Truss, however, seems confident & has said that she will going to appoint very strong cabinet, opting for what more comes across as ‘presidential-style’. She also intends to work even harder to win the support of some of the law-makers who initially supported Mr. Rishi Sunak.
