Winter vacation in Punjab schools announced. Punjab’s Caretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, announced the start date for winter vacations in schools and colleges across the province on Thursday.
He also stated that there would be no restrictions related to smog in the province over the upcoming weekend, taking into account the improved air quality.
Winter vacations for children will commence from Dec 18, 2023, to Jan 1, 2024.
This decision was reached during a meeting of the Cabinet Standing Committee on Smog, which focused on assessing the smog situation in affected districts, including Lahore.
Consequently, educational institutions will remain operational on both Friday and Saturday, and there will be no closure of businesses during the weekend.
The meeting attendees, comprising provincial ministers, the chief secretary, inspector general of police, specialists in health and the environment, secretaries, and other key officials, engaged in discussions covering a wide range of issues related to the current smog conditions and the necessary measures to address them.
