Sindh govt announces 2 holidays in November. The provincial administration of Sindh has officially declared two upcoming holidays, each dedicated to commemorating significant cultural and religious occasions.

In an official notification released by the Government of Sindh, it was announced that November 9 has been designated as a public holiday to honor and remember Iqbal Day, marking a pivotal occasion in the region’s cultural heritage.

This holiday is intended to pay tribute to Allama Muhammad Iqbal, a revered figure in the history of the country.

Notably, the public holiday for November 9 had been suspended in previous years; however, it was reinstated by former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif last year, signifying its renewed significance.

Furthermore, the caretaker setup, in a display of respect for the diverse religious tapestry of the province, has also declared November 13 as a holiday for the Hindu community, specifically in observance of Diwali, a prominent festival within the Hindu tradition.

The notification specifies that on November 13, which falls on a Monday, all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the administrative purview of the Sindh government will remain closed in acknowledgment and celebration of Diwali by the Hindu community.
