A Hudson elementary school teacher, Madison Bergmann, 24, has been accused of engaging in an inappropriate relationship with an 11-year-old student, just months before her scheduled wedding, according to reports by CBS and the New York Times.

Bergmann faces serious charges, including first-degree child sexual assault involving a minor under the age of 13, as detailed in a complaint filed in St. Croix County on Thursday.

The alleged misconduct occurred at River Crest Elementary School in Hudson, where Bergmann was employed.

The complaint outlines disturbing behavior, including reported text exchanges between Bergmann and the fifth-grade student, where she purportedly expressed enjoyment in “making out” with the child and encouraged physical contact.

These interactions were said to have taken place within the school premises, during lunch breaks, or after school hours, according to police reports.

Authorities were alerted to the situation after the victim’s parents discovered screenshots of the text conversations.

Further investigation revealed a folder in Bergmann’s possession with the victim’s name on it, containing handwritten notes detailing their alleged physical interactions.

The duration of the abuse remains unspecified.

According to reports, Bergmann disclosed obtaining the child’s phone number from his mother during a winter break trip to Afton Alps in December.

Coincidentally, this was the same month Bergmann became engaged to her long-time boyfriend, with the wedding scheduled for July.

In response to the allegations, River Crest Elementary School’s Principal Kimberly Osterhues expressed shock and concern, emphasizing the school’s commitment to the well-being of its community and affected children.

As US teacher accused of “making out” with 11-year-old student in school, Bergmann was released on a $25,000 bond but has been prohibited from entering school premises or attending school events.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for May 30th.
