In a move aimed at alleviating the burden of high electricity costs on low-income households, Punjab has initiated the Roshan Gharana Program 2024.
The project seeks to introduce solar power systems to thousands of eligible homes across the region, providing them with an alternative and sustainable energy source.
Commencement of Pilot Project:
The pilot project for the Roshan Gharana Program 2024 is set to commence in Punjab, marking the beginning of a transformative initiative.
Under the program, households will receive comprehensive solar systems, comprising two solar panels, a battery, an inverter, wiring, and other essential equipment.
Online Registration:
Prospective beneficiaries are encouraged to participate in the online registration process, which is slated to begin in the coming days.
Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process:
To qualify for the Roshan Gharana Program, households must be categorized as protected power consumers, utilizing less than 100 units of electricity per month.
The selection of beneficiaries within this phase will be conducted through a fair and transparent lottery system, ensuring equitable distribution.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of installing solar systems equipped with the latest technology during the recent meeting.
