US General warns Iran against involvement in Israel-Palestine conflict. General Charles Q. Brown, the highest ranking military official in the United States, has warned Iran sternly not to participate in the ongoing conflict in Israel in any way, including by arming Hamas in Palestine and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
He highlighted the importance of halting the conflict’s escalation. This unfolds as a missile barrage from Hezbollah, a Lebanese military group, is launched into northern Israel.
Despite the White House’s assertions to the contrary, there is no solid intelligence or proof linking Iran specifically to the assaults carried out in Israel by the Palestinian Islamist organization Hamas.
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Brown, gave Iran a clear directive: “Not to get involved.”
At least three Hezbollah fighters were killed on Monday as a result of Israeli shelling in Lebanon.
Additionally, a Palestinian group in Lebanon claims responsibility for an earlier cross-border incursion that took the life of an Israeli officer.

The confrontation between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza has significantly expanded due to this cross-border fighting, reaching as far north as the Israeli-Lebanese border.
As US General warns Iran against involvement in Israel-Palestine conflict, notably, Israel and Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran, fought a bloody month-long battle in 2006.
The United States wants to make it plain to Iran that they do not want the current issue to worsen, General Brown stressed the need to deliver a strong message to Iran.
Since taking on the position a month ago, he had not previously made any public remarks.
The US military is providing more ammunition, air defences, and other security assistance to Israel in order to help it respond to the historic onslaught by Hamas over the weekend.
As a further measure of support for Israel and to act as a deterrence to the conflict’s further escalation, a US aircraft carrier strike group is also being sent closer to Israel.
General Brown compared the acts of Islamic State fighters to those of Hamas. His prior experience includes leading coalition air operations against the Islamic State, while serving as the deputy commander of US Central Command, and responsible for military operations in the Middle East.
