Fawad, Mahira, Sanam and Ahad set to star in Pakistan's first Netflix original

Pakistan’s first Netflix original has been announced. According to Variety, Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Sanam Saeed, and Ahad Raza Mir will all play significant roles in the television series Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo.

This ground-breaking show will be Netflix’s first foray into Pakistani-themed entertainment, and its all-star cast is sure to enthrall viewers everywhere.

Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo, which is based on the acclaimed 2013 Urdu-language novel of the same name by Farhat Ishtiaq, follows the compelling journey of Sikandar, a brilliant Harvard law student whose life takes an unexpected turn and forces him to put emotional distance between himself and others.

He meets Liza in Italy, a talented artist who is full of life but plagued by a turbulent background.

Their unplanned encounter weaves a tale of profound human connection in which their destinies are intertwined.

With the flamboyant Fawad and Pakistani love Mahira reunited after their record-breaking success in The Legend of Maula Jatt, Pakistan’s highest-grossing movie to date, the cast reads like a who’s who of Pakistani entertainment.

Ahad, whose recent appearances in Netflix’s Resident Evil and the BBC’s second season of World on Fire have drawn considerable attention, joins the ensemble cast alongside Sanam, who previously appeared on screen with Fawad in Zindagi Gulzar Hai and the upcoming Zindagi series, Barzakh.

Hamza Ali Abbasi, who famously portrayed the main antagonist, Noori Nath, in The Legend of Maula Jatt, is a member of the ensemble, which further enhances it.

They are joined by Samina Ahmed, Bilal Ashraf, Maya Ali, Iqra Aziz, Hania Aamir, Khushaal Khan, Nadia Jamil, and Omair Rana.

This group of artists promises to give performances that will have a lasting impact on the audience.

Momina Duraid is in charge of Momina Duraid Films, which is producing Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo.

Previous productions from the production firm, such as Bin Roye, Chand Tara, and Fairytale, have shown she is capable of creating stories that capture both emotion and realism. The fact that the show was commissioned by the Middle East and North Africa division at Netflix demonstrates the company’s dedication to diverse storytelling from the area.

With filming taking place in Italy, the UK, and Pakistan, the production crosses continents and promises visually magnificent settings and a background rich in diverse cultures for the impending drama.

Although a precise release date for streaming has not yet been announced, interest is growing.

The literary talent of Farhat has, however, been adapted for the big screen before. Her earlier works, including a number of popular serials, have been successfully adapted for Pakistani television, including Humsafar, Mere Humdum Mere Dost, Matae Jaan Hai Tu, Diyar-e-Dil, Bin Roye, and Yaqeen Ka Safar.

Additionally, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming Netflix series Heeramandi, which is set in the Heeramandi neighborhood of Lahore, which is currently inside Pakistan’s borders, is designed to immerse viewers in the tapestry of pre-independence India.

Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo, Pakistan’s first Netflix original series, not only looks to set new precedents for both the streaming giant and Pakistani entertainment, but it also has the potential to build a bridge between different viewers around the globe thanks to the unifying power of captivating storytelling.
