Oleksandr Senchenko, a top Ukrainian ambassador, was discovered dead on Monday, apparently after drowning in only 5 feet of water, sparking accusations that it was possibly a high-profile assassination by Russian agencies – fighting in the shadows to assist Moscow to win a lost war.
Senchenko, 56, was instrumental in stopping elusive Russian imports attempting to avoid sanctions.
As Kyiv‘s main envoy in Armenia, Senchenko was second only to the official ambassador in the Yerevan embassy.

The diplomat’s death has raised eyebrows because he was discovered 80 feet offshore in water only 5 feet deep and 22 degrees Celsius.
Lifeguards in a boat retrieved his body, but paramedics’ attempts to resuscitate him were useless.
Ukrainian authorities are still unsure of the reason for his death, fueling curiosity about the incident.
Senchenko’s position included combating Russian attempts to avoid Western sanctions, which helped Armenia’s relationship with both Russia and Ukraine, despite the fact that the two countries do not share borders.
While grieving the loss of an “experienced and highly qualified diplomat,” Ukraine’s foreign ministry declined to comment on the circumstances of his death.
According to the Armenian Interior Ministry, lifeguards at Sevan public beach witnessed a guy swimming in the lake go missing on Sunday evening, and despite their efforts to save him, paramedics ruled him dead.
Armenian officials are currently conducting preliminary investigations into the circumstances surrounding Senchenko’s death.
Though the specific cause is unknown, this tragedy raises concerns, especially given the strange deaths of several high-profile persons associated with Russia since the start of the Ukraine crisis.
A variety of people linked with the Russian state, including government officials, military personnel, and wealthy oligarchs, have suffered untimely deaths.
