Sindh to get two holidays in schools and colleges. The Sindh government has announced a public holiday for all educational institutions on February 26, marking the occasion of Shab-e-Barat.

This decision grants students in the southeastern region a two-day break, including Sunday.

A notification issued by the Sindh Education Department outlined that “In pursuance of the decision of the Steering Committee meeting, all public and private educational institutions under the administrative control of the College Education Department shall remain closed on Monday (February 26, 2024) on account of Shab-e-Baraat.”

Shab-e-Barat, observed by Muslims in Pakistan and parts of the world, is scheduled for Sunday night and Monday.

It is a night of significance in Islamic tradition, during which believers reflect on their actions and seek forgiveness. It is believed that during this night, Allah determines the destinies of individuals for the upcoming year, encompassing various aspects of life including sustenance, fortune, and wellbeing.

As Sindh to get two holidays in schools and colleges, the announcement ensures that educational institutions align with the religious observance and allows students and staff to participate in the religious and cultural events associated with Shab-e-Barat.
