Indian girl Anju, who came Pak to marry Facebook friend, to return home soon. In a compelling tale bridging nations and cultures, a 34-year-old Indian woman embarked on a significant journey to a remote village in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ultimately marrying her Facebook friend and embracing a new life.
Formerly known as Anju, she underwent a conversion to Islam and adopted the name Fatima upon marrying Nasrullah, a 29-year-old resident of the Upper Dir district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The narrative of this intercontinental relationship took a new turn as they navigated bureaucratic processes, with Pakistan extending Fatima’s visa for an additional year last August.
Indian girl Anju to return home, their story now hinges on the acquisition of a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from Pakistan’s interior ministry, a crucial document necessary for her to travel across the Wagah Border back to her homeland in India.
Expressing their anticipation, Nasrullah revealed, “We are waiting for the NOC from the interior ministry in Islamabad, a process known to be time-consuming but essential for her return to India. Once the formalities are complete, Fatima will travel back to India to reunite with her children.”

While Nasrullah emphasized her imminent return to India to meet her children from a previous marriage, he underscored her commitment to Pakistan, stating, “She will certainly come back as Pakistan is her home now.”
Earlier wed to Arvind in Rajasthan, India, Anju, and Arvind share the care of a 15-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son.
However, Nasrullah previously expressed concerns regarding Fatima’s emotional well-being, noting her distress and yearning for her children.
Their story sheds light on the intricacies of cross-cultural relationships, legal complexities, and the emotional strains associated with such life-altering decisions.
